City of the Future - An Artistic Manifesto
« City of the Future » is a transnational artistic co-production between Morocco, Laos, and Germany. At its core lies the question of how people in diverse post-colonial and social contexts wish to shape their futures. Through dance, digital arts, music, and community work, an immersive, interdisciplinary piece emerges, connecting local perspectives with global visions. This unique collaboration enables a profound exchange between artists and communities across continents, giving rise to a multifaceted picture of future ways of life. The project formulates a future constitution by capturing the wishes of the diverse communities in Laos and Morocco, which are then translated into a performance by the artists. An open dialogue between the cultures and the local communities, alongside artistic research, creates a process of engaging with the historical heritage and looking towards a future.

CITY OF THE FUTURE An Artistic Manifesto in Casablanca
Grâce au fonds de coproduction internationale du Goethe-Institut, nous avons eu la formidable opportunité d’effectuer une résidence aux Rencontres Chorégraphiques de Casablanca du 1 au 5 octobre 2026 et de poursuivre les recherches préliminaires de notre nouvelle production, Future Manifest.
Cette action fait partie du projet international City of the Future – An Artistic Manifesto, qui réunit des jeunes et des artistes du Maroc, d’Allemagne, de France et du Laos.
20 jeunes Allemands, 20 Français et un groupe de jeunes danseurs marocains se sont rencontrés aux Rencontres Chorégraphiques de Casablanca pour une résidence intensive à l’American Arts Center, avec le soutien du Goethe-Institut Maroc et de l’Institut français de Casablanca.

Rejoignez un projet de danse international avec des gens du Maroc et du Laos! Nous nous réjouissons d’un nouveau projet international avec nos partenaires du Laos et de Casablanca. Ensemble, nous développerons avec des jeunes de trois continents et avec des danseurs professionnels une pièce de danse qui s’inscrit dans notre succès de la « Ville du futur – un manifeste de l’avenir ». Vous avez l’occasion unique de travailler deux jours de danse avec les danseurs exceptionnels Ole Khamchanla (Laos/France) et Wajdi Gagui (Casablanca/Maroc). Vous en apprendrez plus sur leur culture et vous développerez des vidéos de danse en deux jours, qui seront ensuite intégrées à l’ensemble du projet. Vos contributions seront diffusées en 2026 sur les trois festivals (Maroc, Laos et le Frei Art Festival) !
